Science Fiction Novelist

William Edward Broughton Fox, or 'Bill', as he is known to his friends and family, is a Science Fiction Novelist born in the City of Nottingham, UK.

After emerging from the drunken fog of his student days, studying Electronic Engineering in Sheffield, he became an IT Consultant, working for various software companies both big and small. The nature of this work meant that he had to travel extensively, not only within the UK, but all over the world. The endless long haul flights, train journeys, and lonely hotel rooms gave him plenty of time and inspiration to indulge in his favourite pastime; daydreaming. The characters and stories dreamt up over these years now form the basis of his writing.

Other inspirations come from his many (too many) hobbies and interests, including reading (Sci-Fi and Fantasy, of course), pc gaming, photography, wildlife, constructing scratch-built and kit-built cars, and, of course, anything 'space' related. Just gazing up at the night's sky, looking for satellites, shooting stars, and possibly the odd Ithcwan invasion fleet, still gives him the same sense of wonder he used to get as a child.

He also used to be a huge fan of aviation in all its forms, even training to become a pilot at one stage. Unfortunately, the high number of hours sitting in a cramped, metal tube, 35,000 feet above the north Atlantic, has dampened his enthusiasm somewhat. Seeing and hearing the latest fighter jet on full reheat, though, will still get him very excited.

The travelling behind him, he now lives in North Wales with his wife, and one elderly cat.
